The Mount Helix/Grossmont Neighborhood is an unincorporated community in San Diego County that boasts beautiful scenic outlooks with a preserved rugged appeal. Home to well known celebrities over the years, it continues to remain a united community of friendly neighbors, gorgeous homes and the Historical Mt. Helix Park.
Our client of this beautiful Mount Helix home desired a space that would flow and tie the kitchen, dining, and living room area together. We added additional recessed can lights that matched the previous lights installed and also replaced the kitchen, living, dining, and hall flooring with wood-look luxury vinyl plank flooring. Visit our Chef’s Kitchen Page to learn more about the additional features that were added to this lovely home.
For the home below our clients were looking for a fresh look to match their antique décor. In the master bath, calm muted colors were chosen to enhance the look of the clients marbled antique writing desk. We used 12×24 porcelain tile on the floor and surrounding the tub deck. We removed a wall between the shower and tub and installed a 3/8″ heavy glass enclosure for the shower to create an open concept with better lighting. The shower boasts smooth pebbled flooring and bench seating. Customized cabinets to match the look of the desk complete the look of this relaxed spa feel. The following Kitchen photos, with honey alder cabinets, showcase a look designed to match our client’s antique glass buffet cabinet pictured below. Also featured is a diagonal stone-look porcelain tile backsplash, and blue-gray granite counters. Remodeling is never easy, but Phil and Raelene did their best to make it as smooth as possible while honoring all of our "asks" - even those that were outside of the scope of work - with patience and kindness. This was a big undertaking and we had five bids. We settled on Mathis Custom Remodeling because we felt they really "listened" to what we wanted and then brought their expertise to bear throughout the project. I am no trained chef, but cooking is my passion, and our 20 year old kitchen had seen better days with as much time as I spend in it. Every time I come out to greet the morning and get a cup of coffee I have to pinch myself. I DO really get to cook here! Phil and Raelene gave us a timeline and stuck to it. We added out of scope work, and they still brought our project in on budget and on time. We are extremely happy with the work, the attention they gave, and the smiles and expertise they brought to us each and every day they were on the project. The subs they used were "top shelf" and professional. We enjoyed meeting and observing each and every one of them as they brought their specific skills to the project. We highly recommend MCR. Thanks, Phil & Raelene.
