Mathis Custom Remodeling wants to help make your San Diego home as beautiful as the city you live in.

The San Diego home seen below required renovation of the kitchen and two bathrooms to replace worn and outdated cabinetry. For the Kitchen we installed custom wire-brushed slab cabinets under marble-looking quartz with a glass subway-tile backsplash. For the upper cabinets they choose a white high-gloss laminate cabinet with a simple-touch automatic opening feature. A 48” gas range was relocated to the center of the wall with a decorative glass vent hood. The previous opening in the wall was in a problematic position so the new arch opening and cabinets were designed with the range in the center of the space.

The Master Bath had a very awkward tub and shower layout that divided the room. A thick wall between the two was removed and replaced with an open format for a Japanese soaking tub and large walk-in shower. The shower enclosure is composed of 3/8” thick heavy glass walls and shower door. Other features are two fixed showerheads, and a hand-held  adjustable shower, plus an open two-shelved niche.  Striking grey and blue 12×24 tile was used for the bathroom floor and shower, with accent trim on the wall.

A new textured glass-paneled entry door was installed, and a mirrored sliding barn door replaced the old closet door. The vanity wall from counter to ceiling is wave-textured tile with round frost-trimmed mirrors mounted and lighted from above. Custom vanities with beautiful white shaker drawer cabinets were used for extra storage.

The hall bathroom tub was removed to create a walk-in shower with a 3/8” glass wall and shower door. Porcelain travertine-style 12×24 tile was used to line the shower and create a custom bench. Smooth gray river stone flooring provides comfort for tired feet, and iridescent bubble-textured glass liners add beauty to the built-in niche and shower walls.

The vanity style continues with the gray quartz countertops and the white shaker cabinets that were previously seen in the master bath. Decorative floating shelves, plus, the added feature of the iridescent bubble-textured glass, prominent in the shower and used as a tall backsplash for the vanity, completes the look of this remodeled San Diego home.
